Chipotle Expands Footprint in New Braunfels With New Creekside Location Along Interstate 35

The rapidly developing commercial landscape of New Braunfels is preparing to welcome another prominent fast-casual dining establishment as Chipotle Mexican Grill nears the launch of its second location in the city. Positioned directly within the Interstate 35 corridor, the new restaurant will establish a presence in one of the community's busiest and most visible shopping destinations.

Physical progress at the restaurant site is already visibly underway. Exterior branding and official signage have now been installed at the building, situated at 323 Creekside Crossing. The installation of company branding typically signals the final stages of exterior outfitting before a location transitions toward interior commissioning and full public operations.

Patrons will not have to wait long to visit the new venue. According to a company representative, the Creekside Crossing establishment is formally scheduled to open its doors to the public before the end of September. This targeted timeline ensures that the chain will be operational ahead of the busy fall commercial period.

Upon opening, the restaurant will deliver Chipotle’s standard menu offerings to area diners. Customers will have access to the brand’s customizable food assembly format, which includes build-your-own burritos, lifestyle and protein bowls, tacos, along with side items such as seasoned tortilla chips and freshly prepared guacamole.

Official state regulatory records provide detailed insight into the scope and financial investment behind the new storefront. A filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation reveals that the facility encompasses a total floor plan of 2,528 square feet. The project carries an estimated construction price tag of approximately $650,000.

The arrival of Chipotle at Creekside highlights the shopping center's ongoing reputation as a premier destination for commercial, dining, and retail expansion. Situated adjacent to Interstate 35, the Creekside development continues to draw substantial vehicular traffic from both local residents and regional travelers moving through Central Texas.

This infrastructural placement along the I-35 corridor has made Creekside a focal point for national retail and dining brands seeking high-density consumer environments. As the broader New Braunfels municipality experiences sustained population and economic development, commercial plazas along major transportation arteries have adapted by introducing a wide array of fast-casual food options.

The new Chipotle is not arriving in isolation; it joins an increasingly diversified cluster of food concepts within the development. Mediterranean fast-casual chain CAVA recently celebrated its own grand opening within the same retail strip, adding another high-profile dining choice to the immediate plaza.

In addition to CAVA and Chipotle, the retail strip’s dining portfolio is set to expand even further in the coming months. Plans have already been established to introduce a Potbelly sandwich shop into the development, solidifying the strip center as a concentrated hub for well-known fast-casual eateries.

The integration of multiple dining brands complements the broader mix of retail, food, and entertainment venues that characterize Creekside. By continuously adding popular national franchises to its roster, the shopping center strengthens its positioning as a comprehensive commercial destination along the interstate corridor.

The Creekside establishment represents only a portion of the restaurant brand’s long-term expansion strategy for the municipality. Public records indicate that Chipotle’s footprint in New Braunfels may soon extend beyond this newly constructed second location.

A separate regulatory filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation earlier in the summer outlines initial blueprints for a third Chipotle location within the city. This prospective site demonstrates the company’s intent to deepen its market presence across different sectors of the growing community.

According to the summer state filing, the proposed third restaurant will measure approximately 2,385 square feet in interior size. The capital expenditure for that upcoming buildout is projected at roughly $750,000, reflecting standard development costs for modern standalone fast-casual buildings.

The regulatory documents also outline a projected timeline for the third location's completion. Construction on that subsequent New Braunfels site is currently slated for final delivery around September 2027, signaling a multi-year growth trajectory for the brand in the region.

As New Braunfels continues to attract sustained commercial investment along its primary transit corridors, the dual-phase expansion of Chipotle underscores the steady appetite for fast-casual dining infrastructure in the area. With the Creekside location slated to commence operations by late September, local diners will soon have an additional venue for quick-service meals along I-35.
