Lottery officials in Arizona have announced the winning numbers for the Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026 drawing, offering ticket holders across the state another opportunity to check their numbers for multi-state and local jackpots. The mid-week drawing featured major selections from several popular draw games, including Powerball, The Pick, Fantasy 5, Triple Twist, and Pick 3.
For the multi-state Powerball drawing on Wednesday evening, the winning white ball numbers drawn were 09, 40, 42, 55, and 65. The red Powerball number was 23, and the Power Play multiplier selected for this particular drawing was 2. Players holding tickets matching these specific combinations are encouraged to review their play slips to confirm whether they secured a portion of the prize pool.
In Arizona’s state-specific games, The Pick produced a winning combination of 02, 08, 09, 18, 20, and 40. The Pick serves as Arizona's flagship in-state jackpot game, offering residents a dedicated local alternative to the massive national draw contests.
Players participating in the daily and regional drawings also received their results for Wednesday. The winning numbers for Fantasy 5 were announced as 01, 02, 05, 20, and 39. Meanwhile, the Triple Twist drawing yielded the winning combination of 02, 03, 04, 05, 26, and 38, giving participants another avenue for cash prizes across the state.
Rounding out the Sept. 9 drawings was the evening edition of Pick 3. The winning numbers drawn for the Pick 3 Evening game were 7, 2, and 9. These varied draw games provide daily and weekly participation opportunities across a wide array of entry costs and prize tiers.
Powerball drawings take place three times a week, scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. Arizona time. In the state of Arizona, each Powerball play costs $2, with tickets available for purchase at authorized lottery retailers throughout the region prior to the cut-off times for each drawing.
To participate in Powerball, players must pick five numbers between 1 and 69 representing the white balls, accompanied by a single number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. Bettors can either hand-select their preferred digits on a standard play slip or opt for the lottery terminal to generate a set of randomly selected numbers on their behalf.
The game features nine distinct ways to win a prize based on the accuracy of the matched numbers. Securing all five white balls plus the red Powerball awards the grand prize jackpot. Matching all five white balls without the Powerball grants a fixed payout of $1 million, while matching four white balls plus the red Powerball delivers a $50,000 reward.
Additional prize tiers offer smaller payouts for partial matches. Players who match four white balls, or three white balls along with the red Powerball, earn a payout of $100. Matching three white balls alone, or two white balls plus the red Powerball, results in a $7 prize. Finally, matching one white ball with the red Powerball, or simply matching the red Powerball on its own, awards a $4 return.
Participants can also choose to add the Power Play feature to their ticket for an additional $1 per game. This add-on feature provides an opportunity to multiply non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, five, or even 10 times. The maximum 10-times multiplier is exclusively active and available when the advertised Powerball jackpot is $150 million or lower.
For individuals who discover they hold winning tickets, redemption protocols vary based on the total cash value of the prize. Licensed Arizona Lottery retailers are mandated to redeem winning tickets worth up to $100, and retail locations have the discretion to pay out prizes reaching up to $599.
Prizes valued at more than $599 require players to submit a formal claim either through the mail or by visiting an official Arizona Lottery office in person. Those claiming via mail must send a completed winner claim form, the original winning ticket, and a legible photocopy of a government-issued identification card to P.O. Box 2913, Phoenix, AZ 85062.
Players electing to redeem larger prizes in person can visit one of the two full-service Arizona Lottery customer offices. The Phoenix headquarters is situated at 4740 E. University Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85034 (contact phone: 480-921-4400), and the Tucson regional office is located at 2955 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85716 (contact phone: 520-628-5107).
